About This PODCAST!
This podcast is a little different than most podcasts. You will be able to give us feedback on each episode immediately after listening to it and you will have the opportunity to participate in research around the podcast (introductory survey). Don’t worry, you can still give us feedback without having to agree to be part of the research study!
We are hosting this podcast first on our courses platform so listeners can easily (and with no extra clicking!) fill out a feedback survey for each podcast episode as soon as they're done listening to it. No fuss, no muss, and ALL THE FEEDBACK.
We’re so excited to hear what you think of this podcast. It’s one of our first big experiments in audio content production and the topic is one that personally resonates with us. Everyone on the podcast team has stories of how mentors have changed their lives, for the better and the worse. And we’ve created a series of episodes that many of us wished we could have listened to when we were in research training. We’re hoping this podcast fills a gap that maybe you didn’t even know you had.
“The Trainee Podcast: Build Your Research Community,” is the second part of our “Build Your Research Community” online course on mentoring relationships in science. This podcast covers advanced topics in mentor-mentee relationships so that you can work with your PI in the most effective way possible. There are 7 episodes and 12 experts on mentor-mentee relationships. The episodes are:
- Episode 1: Building Bridges: Finding Your “Ideal” Mentor-Mentee Relationship
- Episode 2: Crossroads Ahead: Strategies to Successfully Transition Through Career Stages
- Episode 3: Exploring Careers with Your Advisor: From Interests to Action
- Episode 4: Receiving and Responding to Feedback on Your Research
- Episode 5: Finding Common Ground: Resolving Conflicts with Your Advisor
- Episode 6: Communicating to Align Expectations and Self-Advocate
- Episode 7: Advisor Insights: What are they thinking?
We can’t wait to hear what you think!
